Wazer Waterjet: Safety and Quick Start Guide

Cut through almost anything—including thick steel and stone—using the raw power of high-pressure abrasive water. Loaner from Flip Wilson.

⚠️ MANDATORY SAFETY RULES (Click to Expand) ⚠️
  1. Authorization Required: You must be checked out on the WAZER by a Shop Lead before use. It is a powerful tool that can cause injury or machine damage if used incorrectly.
  2. Eye Protection: Always wear safety glasses while the machine is pressurized or cutting.
  3. No Hands in Tank: Never put your hands near the cutting head while the high-pressure pump is active.
  4. Abrasive Management: Usage of garnet must be logged and paid for/replenished according to current shop policy.
  5. Material Check: Ensure your material is flat and securely fastened. Bowed material can strike the cutting head and cause a fatal machine error.

Start Up Instructions

  • Check the Tank: Ensure the water level is correct and the tank is free of large debris from previous cuts.
  • Abrasive Level: Check the hopper and ensure you have enough garnet for your intended cut duration.
  • Secure Material: Use screws to fix your material to the bed. Ensure there is no risk of the material shifting or “tipping” after being cut.
  • Set the Offset: Manually set the nozzle height (stand-off distance) using the provided shim tool. This is critical to prevent nozzle clogs.
  • Prime the Lines: Follow the on-screen prompts to ensure water and abrasive are flowing correctly before hitting ‘Start’.

Shut Down Instructions

  • Clean the Workspace: Rinse the cutting area and the interior of the Wazer with low-pressure water to move used garnet into the collection bins. Do not rinse any garnet down the drains.
  • Clear the Tank: Check the used abrasive collection containers and empty them if they are full.
  • Power Down: Turn off the Wazer and the high-pressure pump.
  • Log Your Use: Record your cut time and abrasive usage in the shop log to ensure the machine stays maintained.
